2017 was a year full of love, travel and new beginnings. Looking back, I feel very fortunate to have had the year that I did. I married my forever man, Chris, at the wedding of my dreams, and we embarked on the honeymoon of a lifetime in Tanzania! I learned how to not sweat the small stuff (as cliché as that sounds) and how to always be present in the moment. We underwent some exciting home renovations, purchased a new (awesome) SUV and spent a ton of time celebrating with family and friends. I look back on the year with no regrets, and forward to 2018 with pure excitement!
However, 2017 also made me think about the tough life question, what am I doing with my time? To answer this, I began to list goals for my career, personal life, and everything in between that makes me happy. Now, I am a dreamer, and sometimes it may get the best of me, but what are we doing if not following our dreams? My main dreams are to make an impact, to help others, to explore the sights and sounds (and foods!) of new cities and grow my family.
Therefore, looking forward at 2018 I have set some intentions for myself: to travel more (near and far), help those in need anytime the opportunity presents itself, and to focus more energy on my family.
Everything came full circle when my best friend and I realized many of our goals overlapped, and so Contemporary Kin was born. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us, and we are happy to have you along for the ride!
